Sushi Zanmai - 1 Utama

Couple of weeks back I was at Zanmai @ 1 Utama to have lunch with some of my friends. This time around Vasan took change of the ordering and by the time the food was serve to us it looks to me as if it's a express service by Zanmai. This is because we let Vasan did the ordering naturally he over ordered.

Vasan's ordering method is to always double the order (there is a pax of 5 he will order for 10 pax). That day there was only 5 of us and the food the come could easily feed a whole battalion of army.

Since the table can only fit X number of plate we have to eat extra fast and I did not have enough time to take notes of the food that is serve.

Again I would to note that since the food came so fast I had no time to snap all the picture.

The Coast – Plaza Damas

Here is another place that you should try. When ask most people where do you go to get good western cuisine you will get the answer Chili’s Bar and Grill. Here at The Coast (may not be as big as Chili’s) you will find a cozy place little that you can enjoy your food at a very reasonable price.

The Coast is located in ground floor of Plaza Damas very close to where my wife work’s. Parking is never an issue as there is ample of car park in the basement. Please do not park your car along the road side as there is frequent Police visit there giving away love letter for those parking illegally.

Two of our most loved dishes are the Spaghetti Bolognaise and the Trio Dip. Dishes that you should also try is the Tom Yam Seafood Spaghetti and also the Fajitas.

Tease: From a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being the best). I give a 7.

Tenji Japanese Buffet – Solaris Mont Kiara

I was checking my email and I notice an email from my wife. This email is about a newly open Japanese Buffet Restaurant in Solaris. This email included some picture that made me drool the whole day.

During that time Tenji was running a promotion (RM29.90++ for 1st hour, additional RM10 for the subsequent hour or RM49.90 ++ for the entire lunch session). Because of the promotion they had an overwhelming respond and we could not get a booking. So we decided to have our dinner instate.

The place is very spacious and very well design. The food is place in a very systematic manner where you do not have to walk much to get what you are looking for. They have both outdoor and indoor dinning for you to choice from. We took the outdoor table since smoking is not allow on the inside dining area.

I find that most of the food here is excellent. I particularly love the sashimi and the oyster as you can see.

Be careful of the oyster as the size is HUGE.

The things that you should stay away from is the “Kong Pow Snail” and the “Ginger clams” as I personally think they are over cooked. But since this is Japanese Restaurant and both the food that I just mention are more of a Chinese dishes I would recommend this place for those of you that is crazy about Japanese food.

Tease: Worth the money. Must try.

Price: As for the cost we spend about RM126 for 2 person. This is because the price per person is RM88 and the second person will a discount of RM50.

Vishal Food & Catering. Banana Leaf Rice - Brickfields

Just came back from lunch at Brickfields 'Vishal Food & Catering'. The whole office was there. Since the head count was at 9 the boss provided us with a special room right at the back next to the kitchen. As usual when there is any makan outting with my boss he will be the one doing the ordering. His system of ordering is very simple "Order Double" of what can be eaten.

The standard Banana Leaf Rice with it's side dishes.

Fried Chicken. Very dry.

Fried Fish. Nothing near Selvam's Corner.

Curry Mutton

Curry Crab. Try not to take the crab as it's only shell and carry. They must have used the meat to do some crab cartlets.

Price: RM180 with drinks. Dont take the crab. Not worth it. Mre shell then meat.

Zen Cafe - Mid Valley

As usual during the weekend it's shopping complex time for my family and myself. This weekend we were at Mid Valley. The month of December is a good time to visit the shopping complexes as they have put up the Christmas Decoration.

Had my camera along with me and we were walking pass Zen Cafe. The Mini Mud Cake was calling out my name.

For those who is as crazy as me with chocolet cake do try this out. Moist very moist. Just nice for me.
