Vishal Food & Catering. Banana Leaf Rice - Brickfields

Just came back from lunch at Brickfields 'Vishal Food & Catering'. The whole office was there. Since the head count was at 9 the boss provided us with a special room right at the back next to the kitchen. As usual when there is any makan outting with my boss he will be the one doing the ordering. His system of ordering is very simple "Order Double" of what can be eaten.

The standard Banana Leaf Rice with it's side dishes.

Fried Chicken. Very dry.

Fried Fish. Nothing near Selvam's Corner.

Curry Mutton

Curry Crab. Try not to take the crab as it's only shell and carry. They must have used the meat to do some crab cartlets.

Zen Cafe - Mid Valley

As usual during the weekend it's shopping complex time for my family and myself. This weekend we were at Mid Valley. The month of December is a good time to visit the shopping complexes as they have put up the Christmas Decoration.

Had my camera along with me and we were walking pass Zen Cafe. The Mini Mud Cake was calling out my name.

For those who is as crazy as me with chocolet cake do try this out. Moist very moist. Just nice for me.

Jalan Bellamy - Ikan Bakar 1

After looking for a Christmas present for my mum I surprise my wife by taking her to Jalan Bellamy's Ikan Bakar. This is our second time there, the first time was a few months back. Since then my wife have been craving for the Ikan Bakar.

For those who wish to try this place out during the week day do come here before 12.30pm as the crowd here can be pack. Before i forget during lunch hour this place act like a suana room because of the zink roof.

To those that have not been here this place is located behind Agong Palace. Come in from Jalan Bellamy and drive straight in till you reach a T junction, here you keep right and soon you'll reach the place.

This time decided to try out the restaurent in the center. We order squid and stingray.

Wan Tan Mee - Kepong

Here is another Wan Tan Mee stall that I would recommand to my friends who is anywhere near Kepong area. A must try once you are here is the wan tan mee and also the curry mee.



Price wise it's RM4.50 for the double Wan Tan Mee and RM3.50 for the Curry Mee.

9th Mile Cheras - Siew Chow

We spend a night at my mother's place in Cheras this weekend. For breakfast my brother decided to take us to what we call "Dirty Old Man". Here they only serve the Siew Chow type of food.

As you can see the place is not like a 5 star hotel and any great restaurant but the food is to die for.

Our first dish is the Claypot Mee. Price at RM10. Size medium. BTW as you can see there is no prawn as we are cutting down on seafood, if not the prawn serve here is huge. MUST TRY.

Our second dish is Wor Tan Hor. Price RM8.

How Kee Seafood Village. Bukit Tambun Seafood

Last 3 weeks I was in Penang for a project with my friend. After finishing the work needed to be done we decided to head back to KL. It was about dinner time them and we were talking about the Bukit Tambun seafood so what else we drove in and pick How Kee Seafood Village.

With each dish serve to us we were busy snapping picture of the dish. Here i would like to apologize that the picture quality is not there as it was taken with a handphone camera. To our supprise all 8 dishes was serve to us in less then 10 minutes. To me this is service.

While snapping away the lady boss notice us and approch us wondering what we are doing. So I explain to her that I like to blog about the food that i've eaten. I wonder if what i said did give us some discount.

To me this place serve the best seafood that I've eaten for a long long time. If you guys are in Penang do drop by. I will add in the name and address later.

By the way please guest the total price. Total number of dish is 8. The 8th dish was the fried ice cream.

TGI friday's - 1 Utama

For my birthday my wife treated us lunch at TGI Friday's at 1 Utama. So much have changed with Fridays since the last time we were there some years back. I remembered those days the waiters were able to describe to you whatever is in the menu and also the way it's cook and prepared. Nowadays, its a bit different, the waiter that attended to us had to excuse herself to ask the kitchen how our order is cooked. How sad.....


My son's order was the Finger Chicken with Fries. It's a kids meal and what you get is 4 pcs of finger fried chicken and some fries. This dish cost RM6 something.


My wife's order was the Blackened Chicken Alfredo. This dish is cooked with creamy fettuccine topped with blackened chicken breast, fresh tomato and green onion. Cost RM22.90.

My dish is the Jack Daniel's Steak. A chargrilled 10oz steak served with brocoli, mashed potato with some cheese and the Jack Daniel's sauce. Cost RM54.90.

By the way I saw no "Ibu Chicken" in the menu. What happen to it?

Loh Mee - Harta Mas

For today's breakfast I had it in Harta Mas. The stall is located next to True Fitness and it's easy to be found. My order today is the Loh Mee (RM4.50 - Small).

As the picture shows every monday they serve White Curry Mee (Only Monday).

Kim Gary - Plaza Damas

Today we (My wife and I) had our dinner at Kim Gary located in Plaza Damas. My order is the Pork Ribs set with garlic source. It also include Watermelon Juice, Garlic bread, desert and sweet corn cream soup. My wife order was the Egg Sandwich (did not got the chance to take any picture).

The Pork Ribs is a must try and also the Egg Sandwich.

The only sad part for the branch is their waiter. When our dishes was serve to us the waiter (this guy has a spiky hair do) was like thrown on our table. Should you guys go there please beware of this guy (sorry could not remember the waiter's name).

Labuan Mee goreng

Last week I was at Labuan for work. Since my camera was not with me all the while I only manage to take some picture of the places that I went.

First place is the Malay food Court behind Grand Dorsett Labuan Hotel.



My first order was the Mee Goreng Ayam. Since there was not much place to eat that I know off this Mee Goreng Ayam was great.


For side order I order the BBQ chicken wing. Since I like my wing to be on the sweet side this did not pleased me at all.

With the food not to my liking that night i decided to wash it all away with some beer. Hahaha Labuan the Duty Free Island. So what is the first thing that come to your mind. It's Beer. It's cheaper to buy beer that mineral water.


Here is something that i would like to share with you guys if you decided go to Labuan. PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN MANIKAR BEACH RESORT HOTEL. My night there was a nightmare,

1) The lift dont work.

2) The bath tub has no stoper

3) The TV don't work

4) The phone don't work

5) The bad is full bad mites

The only consolation is the food I do find to be great. The Mee Goreng Mamak there is a must try.

Next in the list that you must try is the Stew Ox Tail with Rice.

9th Mile Cheras - Wan Tan Mee

My jouney to find the best Wan Tan Mee took us to 9th Mile Cheras. Was recommended by locals in that area.

From a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the best) this Wan Tan Mee I will grade them at 5.5. One thing I find intresting is the green chilli. Most places you will find them being soggy but this is still crunchy.

Total price is Rm23. 2 X Large, 2 X Medium and 1 X Small. Also including of 2 glasses for herbal tea.
